Panasonic Announces the launch of the DMC-ZS1 / DMC-TZ6
28th Jan 2009
Panasonic's new DMC-TZ6 (Usa version = ZS1) is their latest addition to Lumix TZ family of digital cameras, all renowned for packaging a remarkable 12x optical zoom in what is a compact, stylish body, whilst allowing ultra wide angle photography with a 25mm lens. The successor to the hugely popular DMC-TZ5, the TZ6 is set to be a firm favourite amongst compact camera buyers..
The 10 megapixel TZ6 has a high-quality LEICA DC VARIO ELMAR 25mm ultra-wide-angle lens which has a 12x optical zoom, and offers an almost inconcievable range from of 25mm to 300mm (in 35mm film terms) especially in such a small, lightweight camera. The trick is in how they use the 10 elements (set in 8 groups) and the utilisation of new lens material.
Panasonic have also incorporated an updated version of its Intelligent Auto mode to increase still further the ease of operation (and thus reduce the number of misshot). Digital red-eye correction is also integrated in the face detection software..
