Wildlife Photography at Loch Awe in Scotland
26th Oct 2008
In 2006 Philip Price set up Loch Visions, now an award-winning wildlife photography company, on the banks of Loch Awe in a remote part of Argyllshire. Here Price has created different "zones" into which his students can venture in order to capture the photograph of their dreams. There is a place to capture action shots of dragonflies and insects, a place where wildflowers and butterflies abound, while red squirrels, ospreys and roe deer are often seen. But don't worry, if they don't, no matter, Price's enthusiasm is such that he can make even a snail captivating.
The day begins with coffee and a one-hour photography tutorial in the studio, then all the students we head outside to put the theory into practice. Its not always as easy as it seems, but the day is bound to be informative and you never know you may just click the picture of a lifetime.
Lunch is a delicious spread prepared by Price's grandmother, taken overlooking Loch Awe. Repleat you return to the studio for digital photography and by 5pm you'll be the proud owner of a set of your very own CD of images and a glossy print of your best shot!
