Green Thinking Jason snaps top photography prize in the Imagine Cup

Photography student Jason Parlour has scooped a top prize for his environmental work, the young snapper from Thames Valley University was one of the UK winners of Microsoft’s 2008 Imagine Cup.
The competition, open to all in the UK challenged students to ‘imagine a world where technology enables a sustainable environment’.
Jason claimed victory in the photography category for his set of works entitled "What’s Your Carbon Footprint", in which he highlighted the positive impact big corporations could make by switching to greener energy supplies.
He received his prize, which includes some work experience with the Microsoft team in Seattle, at a grand ceremony in London and will now travel to Paris to represent the UK in the global finals in July.
Mark Taylor, director of developer and platform evangelism at Microsoft, said: “Our changing environment is one of society’s biggest challenges and the students of today will not only be amongst those affected by it, but we believe they have a great opportunity to create the solutions to the problems we face. “The UK finalists of the Imagine Cup could significantly help to improve the lives of millions of people around the world.”
