High Speed Photography
18th December 2008
The whole thing about photography is in the capturing of a moment, a split second of time captured for ever. But, life can move quickly sometimes, passing by in a blur, sometimes just too quickly for us to capture and freeze.
So how can we capture those " moments in time" that pass far too quickly for us to record?, those moments that we can't take pictures of with a regular, point-and-shoot camera or even see with the unaided naked eye? For example if you tried to take a picture of a bullet, the chances are you'd come away with nothing but the background (if you were lucky). The same would go if you tried to photograph a a hummingbird flapping its wings in mid-flight. Sure you would capture the body, but the bird's wings would look like a large, triangular blur.
Let this series by John Fuller of HowstuffWorks.com show you how to capture those high speed images...
The website (HowstuffWorks) has lots more to offer too, and you are bound to find some inspiration there.....
